Job Planning A new application available in ActiveApplicatons Version 8 is Job Planning. A job plan is created from the lines on an estimate that make up the job. It can be all or part of the lines or quantities on a line. A job plan divides the job into smaller day or week size chunks that are treated as individual parts of the entire job. A job plan can be billed as it is completed, too. Job planning allows you to create job plans for jobs that
correspond to parts of the estimates. Crews can be assigned to job plans. Phases
can be isolated to reduce the complexity of creating the Job plan if the plan is
phase dependant. Lines can be assigned to the job plan completely or partially.
Work orders created from job plans can be printed that show the quantity of an
item that has been planted, scheduled to be planted on this work order and
quantity remaining to be planted. Job Plans are numbered sequentially and contain an
execution date and job number automatically. Many of them can exist for a job.
This allows you to easily integrate the job plan into your business processes
and track the status of each plan for a job. When creating a new job plan all of
the existing plans are included in the scheduled quantity. Job Plans are designed to be portable. They can be easily
copied to portable computers or tablet PC’s. New work orders can be printed or
viewed from the portable computer. They can be completed on the computer and
returned to the main system for processing. Job Plans can be used to print an invoice. Printing an invoice for the part of the job completed reduces the in office paper work needed to track a job. This in office paper work reduction is enhanced because the crews that perform the work will be more accurate than office personnel can be. Crew control will be enhanced because the job plan work order only has on it what is scheduled for this day. Other items not scheduled to be done are not on the job plan work order. Job Plans can be used to create invoices at the job site,
too. This works great for those business processes where work is performed and
an invoice must be left with the customer based on work that was done at the
site. Because the job plan has the line information from the estimate and job
the right price will be charged for the service performed for this customer. If
a customer has a billing rate that is different from standard rate for this job,
the job plan knows it. Being able to create an invoice or job transaction from the information scheduled as part of a large job means you have better crew control. They see only what they need to see and it is presented in an easy to follow way. |
